Questions & answers
Everything about the plugins, what they run on, and what's coming. Still stuck? Use the contact form and I'll answer.
What do I need to run these?
An Apple Silicon Mac (M1 or newer), Final Cut Pro 10.8.1 or Motion 5.8 (or later), and macOS 13.5 (Ventura) or newer. macOS 13.5 is the minimum required. Each plugin's page lists anything specific to it.
Will they work on my Intel Mac?
No. These are built natively for Apple Silicon, and some of the effects rely on things Intel Macs can't do. If you're on an M-series Mac, you're good.
Do they work in Motion too, or just Final Cut Pro?
Both. Every plugin runs in Final Cut Pro and in Motion. Install once and they show up in either app.
What even is an FxPlug, and where do these show up?
FxPlug is Apple's plugin format for Final Cut Pro and Motion. Once installed, these live right in your Effects browser. Drag one onto a clip and it's working, same as any built-in effect.
Some of these used to be free. Why charge for them now?
A few of these started as free Motion templates years ago, and some are brand new. Here's the honest version: the old free ones were simple presets. What you're looking at now was rebuilt from scratch as real native plugins, with way more control, better performance, and a pile of features that didn't exist before. That work takes real time, and keeping them updated as Final Cut and macOS change takes more. A fair price is what lets me keep building them, fixing them, and adding to them instead of letting them rot. If you grabbed a free version back in the day, thank you. This is the grown-up version.
Can I buy them yet?
Not yet. They're getting their final packaging and pricing sorted. Drop your email on any plugin's page and I'll tell you the moment it's ready, no spam, just the heads up.
