Afterglow

Afterglow

Real film glow that lights up your highlights, not your whole frame.

About

Most glow plugins just blur the whole frame and call it cinematic. This one finds the bright parts of your actual footage first and glows only those, so a neon sign lights up while the face beside it stays sharp. You get real optical light: a soft neutral bloom off the highlights, the warm red bleed you get from real film (that's halation), and a black-mist veil that lifts the blacks and takes the hard digital edge off. Blown highlights turn creamy white instead of harsh and clipped. Most days you'll touch one slider, Amount, and you're done. Open the advanced panel and there's a colorist's worth of control waiting: bloom shape, warmth, a cross-screen star filter, all of it. Real-time on Apple Silicon. Runs in Final Cut Pro and Motion.
